50% Grants for Web Site Development
Expenditure
incurred in the development and maintenance of an internet web site may be
claimable under the federal governments EMDG Scheme. This provides
eligible exporters with a 50% rebate for the expenditure
incurred on the following internet related activities:-
- web site set up charges, including design of site
- web site annual operation and service fee
- interact connection service
- search engine connection fees (usually free of
charge)
- hot link connections from other sites (frequently
free of charge)
- banner advertising on other web sites
To be
eligible for the 50% rebate, a web site would include some or all of the
following features:
- listing of contact details of overseas
representatives or agents
- details on how foreign customers can make direct
purchases
- listing of overseas sales outlets
- the existence of foreign language material.
- hot links from a range of foreign sites frequented by
foreign customers
- notified search engines operating in target markets
- reference to Web site in foreign advertising material
